Our commitment
KAZ New Homes is committed to making kazoregon.com usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We design and build the site to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and 2.2 at Level AA, the standard cited by the U.S. Department of Justice's 2024 ADA Title III rulemaking and by the EU's EN 301 549.
Conformance target
WCAG 2.1 AA and WCAG 2.2 AA — the additions in WCAG 2.2 (focus appearance, focus not obscured, dragging movements, target size minimum, consistent help, redundant entry, accessible authentication) are all in scope.
Features available on this site
- Semantic HTML5 and ARIA landmarks (banner, navigation, main, contentinfo)
- Full keyboard navigation; visible focus indicators with 3-pixel outline at sufficient contrast
- Skip-to-content link at the top of every page
- Minimum color contrast of 4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text (WCAG 1.4.3)
- Minimum target size of 44 × 44 CSS pixels for all interactive controls (WCAG 2.5.5 AAA, exceeds AA)
- Respects
prefers-reduced-motionby default; manual toggle in the accessibility panel - Respects
prefers-color-schemeby default; manual Light/Dark/Auto theme toggle in the accessibility panel - Text size adjustment (14, 17, 19, 22 px) from the accessibility panel
- High-contrast mode toggle for buyers who need stronger color separation
- Link-highlight mode for visitors who benefit from stronger link emphasis
- Form labels associated with every input; required fields marked; honeypot anti-spam does not block screen readers
- Image alt text on all decorative and informational images; SVG icons marked
aria-hiddenwhere decorative - Heading hierarchy without skipped levels (h1 → h2 → h3)
- Tables with semantic headers
- Captions and transcripts on any video content (no video on the site at present)
Known limitations
- Some embedded third-party content (e.g., builder community pages we link to) may not be fully accessible. Where this is the case we provide alternative text descriptions of the relevant information on our own community pages.
- PDF documents added in the future will be tagged for accessibility before publication.
How we test
- Manual keyboard navigation testing on every new layout
- Color contrast verification via axe DevTools and manual checks
- JSON-LD parse verification on every deploy (so that machine-readable identity data stays valid for assistive technologies that rely on it)
- Screen reader spot checks with VoiceOver (macOS / iOS) and NVDA (Windows)
